October is going to be a busy month at Coesse! Mark your calendars for PTO’s next Family Fun Night on October 9 from 6-8 at Happy Valley Skate Rink. In addition, Coesse will be holding its annual Bingo for Books on October 23. Bring the whole family out for a fun night of Bingo. We will have a wide variety of books to give away as prizes! Coesse students in grades k-2 recently finished fall NWEA testing. Students completed tests in math, reading, and language (grade 2 only). Students will take the NWEA test in the fall, winter, and spring. Results will be sent home after each testing window. This is a great tool to monitor student growth.
Students in grades 3-5 will be taking the ILEARN Checkpoint 1 Assessment in the coming weeks. Checkpoints are short standards-based assessments that students will take three times a year (fall, winter, and early spring). Data from the ILEARN Checkpoints informs instruction and interventions on the Indiana Academic Standards, supporting student learning throughout the course of the school year. More information on ILEARN checkpoints can be found here. ILEARN checkpoints will replace NWEA testing in grades 3-5. Checkpoint results will be available through a Parent Portal. More information about accessing your child’s Checkpoint results will be coming home soon.
